More Franklin Fun - Sept. 21
Ben Franklin's aphorisms continue to be quoted and popular. Find your favorite Ben Franklin quote. Explain why it's fun or favorite -- then make up your own aphorism. If you aren't sure what "aphorism" means, you know what to do. After all, you're smart, you're honorable, you're INDIAN. Benjamin Franklin;
ReplyDelete"Work as if you were to live a hundred years. Pray as if you were to die tomorrow."
In this quote, Benjamin is saying that you should put 100% into your work everyday, as if you were to do that for another hundred years. And, that everytime you pray, you should mean it as sincere as possible because it just might the last time you get to pray.
My aphorism;
"You gotta know history, to make history."
''Be slow in choosing a friend, slower in changing''. I like this one because, it tell you something really important about life. It tell you dont be friends with everyone. When your picking your friends don't be in a rush. Make sure there your friend for who you are, as a person. Don't let them use you for anything. Also, dont end your friendship over simple things. Try to figure things out first before you do anything you may regret.
ReplyDelete" In the end. its not the amount of years in your life ,its the amount of life in your years " Abraham Lincoln . this is my favorite quote and a fun quote to me because to me it is explaining its not what you do in the years of your life its how you live the years in your life . my aphorism is ,I only hate you on opposite day .
ReplyDeleteMy favorite aphorism written by Ben Franklin is Be civil to all;sociable to many; familiar with few; friend to one; enemy to none. I enjoy this because it has a theme that I try to live by as often as I possibly can. If I had to make up an aphorism it would probably be; Remember life is like Scooby-Doo, the thing you fear most is always just a crazy man in a mask.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Ben Franklin Quote is, "He that can have patience can have what he will." I like this quote because its saying that if you can wait for something then you deserve it. an aphorism that i made up is, "He that does not listen does not learn." -Kirsi White
ReplyDeleteMy favorite of Ben Franklin’s aphorisms is “Write injuries in dust, benefits in marble.” I like it because it tells you to remember the positive things and toss away the memories that don’t help you.
ReplyDeleteHere's my own attempt at an aphorism that includes my own personal advice: "Love is good to receive, better to give, and best when it's shared."

ReplyDelete“Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight.” (Benjamin Franklin) This quote is my favorite because it encourages people to do what they believe in without worrying what might happen because it might never happen. There has been to many times that we have not done something only because we were worried about the consequences that our acts might bring. But what would have happened if all of us would think like that? What would the world be like if people in the past were to worried to express there thoughts? We would live in a world full of discrimination; in a world where women were not allowed to vote; in a world where people were separated because of their color. We would live in a miserable world.
My aphorism is “If you want to see a change in your life fight for it, never complain of what could be different.”
