The Tomahawk is a place for students of 10th grade Honors English at Wetumpka High School to gather, discuss, reflect on, and connect to, relevant issues in American Literature.
Both, dystopian and utopian societies are potrayed by George Orwell in the book, "1984".
ReplyDeleteHow? Well, as you know, dystopian society is know to be worse than regularly bad present time. It's a mixture of wrath and
deceit. While on the higher side of life, utopian society is known to be perfect and or peaceful. For this novel to be based on lies, it's perferably said to have a dystopian society. Although, from the dreadful past memories, what is happening in there life now is much better. That is how the society can be portrayed as utopia.
Brave New World is a dystophia because althuogh it may seem like a utopia it is indeed a horrible place where the government controls everything you do for the pursuit of "happiness", babies are created and born from test tubes, immorality is pushed to the limit and drugs(soma) are encouraged by the government to be used , for any reason, to make you happy.
